Welcome to DYCD Youth Employment Program!
SYEP
The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides tens of thousands of New York City youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with important summer employment and educational opportunities for up to seven weeks. For the majority of youth enrolled in the program, SYEP provides their first work experience.
SYEP participants work at camps, parks, government agencies, local non-profits, hospitals, senior centers, daycare centers, retail organizations, and businesses throughout the city and earn the federal minimum wage.
ISY
The In-School Youth (ISY) program provides year-round services to at-risk high school juniors and seniors. ISY Program Services Include:
• Objective needs assessments • Individualized Service Strategies (ISS) • Sports, arts, technology and recreation activities
• “Step Up” Career Planning Guide • Tutoring • College preparation and out-of-city college trips
• Project-based leadership activities • Guidance and counseling services
• Paid internship opportunities and Summer Work Program
ISY services are provided by 72 contractors in all five boroughs.

YAIP
The Young Adult Internship Program (YAIP) is a year long program that provides you with an opportunity to participate in a paid internship, gain real work experience, and learn valuable skills. The hallmark of YAIP is a 14-week internship program in which you can earn up to $2,500. Before and during the internship you will explore career and education options, learn about personal money management, and attend workshops on job-related topics. At the end of the internship, you will receive 9 months of assistance in finding and keeping a job or successfully continuing your education and/or training goals.
OSY
The Out-of-School Youth (OSY) program serves 16-21 year old young adults who are not connected to school or work and need assistance in upgrading their educational and occupational skills. Funded through the Workforce Investment Act [WIA], OSY programs operate year-round by community-based organizations in all five boroughs of New York City .
Program services offered by OSY providers:
• Occupational skills training in sectors such as customer service, construction, healthcare, retail, and food service
• Comprehensive supportive services, including peer support groups, leadership opportunities, and life skills training
• Follow up services for twelve months after completion of the program
• Employment and college placement assistance • GED preparation and basic skills instruction
